After a sell-out debut in 2017, Life & Style returns to the Capital this Spring, 5-6 May, where visitors can enjoy a stylish weekend, with the best that Edinburgh has to offer.

Life & Style brings together the shops, bars, brands and businesses in the central Business Improvement District, offering a packed programme to delight in across the weekend, including a fashion show, trend talks, express beauty treatments and workshops, as well as gaining access to exclusive discounts and one-off masterclasses, sharing expert advice on fashion, health and beauty, interior design, food and drink and much more.  Plus:

  • Fashion show and trend talk, hosted by Scottish fashion designer Lynne McCrossan,

  • The Lifestyle Stage, playing host to a roster of masterclasses with leading industry experts, compered by STV favourite and style blogger, Susie Bruce
  • Celebrity hairdresser Jason Collier, who tends to the tresses of Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria, will demonstrate easy-to-achieve hairstyles

Introduction to Collage & Photomontage

An introductory course exploring the potential of collage and traditional cut and paste photomontage. Working in cut paper and using a mix of found and personal imagery. Alan will demonstrate, guide and encourage you throughout the workshops. The course is designed for all levels of skill and aims to be relaxed and friendly. At the end of the 4 week block you will have produced finished artwork that can be mounted and framed and even turned into prints to send to friends and family. All materials will be supplied.

Evening Class - starting 3 April (Full)

  • Every Tue for 4 weeks, 3-24 April, 7-9pm

Day Class  - starting 8 April (2 places available)

  • Every Sun for 4 weeks, 8-29 April, 12-2pm

Music Diaspora

Internationally acclaimed British/Syrian musicians Waseem Kotoub (piano) and Ayman Jarjour (guitar) in concert, accompanied by a visual display of Syria before and after the war. Programme includes themes of immigration, acquired cultures and music around the world. Both musicians studied and lived in numerous countries. Waseem graduated from the Royal Academy of Music (London), performed in prestigious venues and festivals including Duke's Hall (London) and Tako Salon (Japan) and is juror at Osaka International Music Competition. Ayman studied at Juilliard and Madrid Conservatory. He has performed worldwide, both solo and with an orchestra, including at Carnegie Hall.

Origins is the untold story of the world’s first murderer.

After murdering his brother, in cold blood, we meet Cain living out his life exiled from his homeland.  Afflicted by his memories and haunted by figures from the past, Cain must now retrace his steps back to Eden in pursuit of answers.  ORIGINS is a psychological thriller that plunges into the heart of darkness where movement, sound and rhythm fuse to create a physically pulsating stage adventure.  Journey into the landscapes of both dream and reality and confront life’s primeval questions of faith, death and immortality.

Summer holiday singing groups for primary school children at Lifecare

With a team of fully-qualified music teachers, Hanah Mack Music Tuition presents Summer Singers 2017. The summer holiday pop choir will be filled with games and musical warm ups and we will be singing along to all the best chart hits and your movie favourites. The team will be rehearsing all week, working towards a Friday afternoon showcase for family and friends.
