The Pantry

No Stockbridge brunch guide would be complete without The Pantry. A firm local favourite, it's built a loyal following thanks to its creative seasonal menu, locally sourced ingredients and welcoming atmosphere. The menu puts inventive twists on classic brunch dishes, alongside excellent coffee and homemade bakes that make it difficult to leave without ordering something extra.

Queues are almost guaranteed at weekends, but don't let that put you off. Grab a coffee, browse the independent shops nearby and before long you'll be sitting down to one of the neighbourhood's best brunches.

Patisserie Florentin

For a French-inspired brunch, Patisserie Florentin has been a Stockbridge favourite for more than 30 years. Alongside beautifully baked pastries and rich espresso, you'll find brunch classics including Eggs Benedict, Croque Monsieur, Belgian waffles and generous breakfast plates.

Everything feels wonderfully traditional, with recipes rooted in classic French baking and plenty of attention to detail.

Whether you're after a leisurely weekend brunch or simply somewhere to enjoy excellent coffee and pastries, this neighbourhood institution continues to stand the test of time.

Cowan and Sons

📍33 Raeburn Place

Cowan & Sons feels effortlessly cool without trying too hard. Original tiled walls, artwork by local artists, trailing plants and cosy booth seating give the café plenty of character before you've even looked at the menu. The food is fresh, wholesome and beautifully presented, with excellent coffee to match, making it just as popular for brunch as it is for lunch.

It's almost always busy whenever I walk past, which usually tells you everything you need to know. If you're looking for somewhere to settle in for a slow morning, this is it.

What to order: One of their seasonal brunch specials with a flat white.


Two Children Coffee

📍124b Raeburn Pl

Tucked beside Inverleith Park and The Grange, Two Children Coffee is perfectly placed for a relaxed start to the day. It's a brilliant stop after a morning tennis session, before a walk through the park or simply as the first stop on a day exploring Stockbridge. The café serves excellent coffee, generous pastries, fresh juices and a strong breakfast menu in a bright, welcoming space.

Dogs are always welcome too, making it a favourite with locals stopping by after a walk through the park.

What to order: One of the breakfast dishes with a freshly baked croissant and coffee.





S&B Brunch Bar

📍108 Raeburn Pl

If your idea of brunch leans more indulgent than traditional, S&B Brunch Bar should be high on your list. Their signature croffles—a buttery croissant-waffle hybrid—come piled high with everything from Korean fried chicken and gochujang to veggie haggis, while excellent coffee, smoothies and outdoor seating make it a brilliant sunny-day brunch spot.

It's also one of the most dog-friendly cafés in Stockbridge, complete with treats, a dedicated dog menu and even benches designed with space for four-legged visitors.

Cafe Gallo

Family-run since opening in 2018, Cafe Gallo has quietly become a staple of the Stockbridge community. Brothers Oscar and Josef now run the café, continuing the warm, welcoming atmosphere their mum first created. The menu keeps things simple but consistently delicious, with loaded breakfast wraps, toasted sandwiches, topped sourdough, Italian coffee and plenty of local produce.

It's the sort of café where familiar faces become regulars, and one visit quickly turns into many more.

What to order: The loaded breakfast wrap and an Italian coffee.



New Town Deli

📍23 Henderson Row

Just a short stroll from Stockbridge, New Town Deli has all the charm of a neighbourhood café. Cosy interiors, sunny window seats and friendly staff make it somewhere you'll happily linger over brunch, while the menu offers breakfast burritos, breakfast rolls, toasted banana bread, smoothies and excellent coffee throughout the morning.

Sat on the corner of Henderson Row, it's the kind of place that's always buzzing with locals enjoying a leisurely breakfast while watching the world go by.

What to order: Breakfast burrito, toasted banana bread and a smoothie.
